Solo Road Trip

I've been itching to get out of Nashville for a while now. A large majority of my mental space is used thinking about when and where and how I will go to all the places I want to see. Most of the time I get really frustrated and wonder if I'll ever get cool opportunities like people I see on the internet do. And even though I forget that I'm young and have my whole entire life ahead of me to do those things, I still think that my desires for travel are valid, even now, in my late teenage years.

So in my unique place in life of having graduated high school with no plans for college, money saved and plenty of time, but no one with a similar agenda to go with, I decided to take a trip by myself.

After lunch, I decide to hop the freeway to Asheville. The road was windy and there were two tunnels. I had a blast. By the time I hit the city, I was ready for some coffee and a scone, which is exactly what I found at an adorable little Starbucks right in town. I drove around the downtown area for a bit, then started my nearly five hour drive back home.

The last two hours were tough. I became extremely anxious from being on the road alone for so long and came very close to losing it. However, I was able to maintain my sanity by listening to music I knew the words to and talking to God out loud. My oh my, did He carry me through those last 100 miles.

I'm happy I went out on a limb and went by myself. It was quite the day.

Till next time,

Although my ideal getaway would be to feel the cold, ocean breeze on the shores of SanFrancisco, I settled for Knoxville. Right off the bat, my camera suffered a drop and stopped working, but magically started working for reasons unknown to me. The people around me definitely thought I was crazy when I jumped out of my chair with a huge smile on my face.

I wandered the downtown area for a while, found some good vegan food as well as a three story Urban Outfitters. It was aweeeesome.
