An Evening Alone

Every year on the night before my birthday, I go on a specific mission to photograph the sunset. It's inspired by one of my most favorite songs in the world called, "When The Sun" by Rich Ramsey. The song says,

And it's hard to believe that it's been this long.

I guess I knew that things would have to change sometime.

When the sun comes up

Tomorrow I'm gone

And I'm leaving you behind

I don't know, but there's something about the song that I've absolutely loved for years. It's about leaving a part of life behind and moving on into new and good, but scary, things.

This year, I decided to drive to the park in the neighborhood I lived in as a kid. I parked and walked around the pathways, then into the neighborhood, past my old house and a few of my elementary school friends' houses. It was an evening alone with my camera and my memories from years ago, and I'm happy I got some photos to remember the night by.
