Inspiration Wall
So every couple of months, I rearrange the furniture in my bedroom. I've probably been doing it for the last 5 or 6 years. I'm constantly craving a change of scenery, and this has been just a small way for me to shake things up & keep myself sane over the past few years. Hahaha.
Anyway, this is what my largest wall has looked like for a while. I like to use it as a place for inspiration.
Up on the left, I've got my prints from Zeke Tucker. He's a super cool graphic designer in Chattanooga. The one on the top is my favorite. It's a picture of the house from Pokemon & says, "Home Sweet Home." I grew up playing tons of video games, but Pokemon was (and still is?? yeah it still is.) my fave.
I picked up the California maps at an antique/gift shop in Downtown Franklin a year or two ago. I think they fit in well & they remind me of living there as a kid.
The zigzag frame was a birthday gift from my friend, Caitlin. I met her on the first day I moved to Tennessee, almost ten years ago. I can hardly believe it's been that long. Inside the frame, I put a card/artwork that my friend, Lauren, made and gave to me for the same birthday. The little watercolor succulents make me so happy!!
The large Chattanooga print is also from Zeke Tucker! I purchased all three designs when Sam and I made the trip down there last May for an instameet. The air was hot and sticky that day, and I was excited to frame and hang my new prints up when we got home.
Sam made and gifted me the black & white United States frame for my birthday last year, and I love it so much! I knew as soon as I opened it in her car that it was going on my inspiration wall.
And last but not least, my cork board/vision board. This is the newest addition to the wall. I created it to house my goals for 2016 and a few other notes and photos that were previously hanging above my desk before I moved it to face a window! (yay natural light!!!)
Anyway. First, I have a little print from walk in love. that has the Lord's Prayer written in a cool graphic. (I also have their t-shirt with this same design!) I love walk in love. and the awesome people that run it, so naturally, something from them had to make it up on my wall. :)
Next, I have my ticket from the first time I saw Star Wars TFA, a photo of a beachside worship session from one of the church camps I went to in 2014, a sticker Sam gave me & some of our future travel plans. Hehehe.
I've got a few more scattered photos of me and my fam, as well as some super small photos of the beach in SF & a failed Polaroid with Psalm 11:7 written on it.
My "New Year's Resolutions" are more or less just goals I've set for myself in 2016, and I have them pinned up so I see them everyday. I also have a list of things to ask myself/asses before posting to Instagram & a little list of blog post ideas.
I have two drawings of my own hung up, too. The first is an outline of a silhouette with lyrics from one of my favorite songs by Keane. It says, "It's funny how it's easy to forget her face." I love the line and had this idea to draw it inside of a face! Haha, I think it turned out cool.
Next is a simple ampersand that I may or may not have completely copied from Pinterest. So sleek, so minimalistic, so Pinterest.
There are a few scattered square photos from 2014 & 2015 pinned up as fillers, but they make me think about how I felt when I took them, and that inspires, me for sure.
The last three photos are ones that I took of Rock Island, the Natchez Trace Bridge & the walking bridge in Chattanooga.
Well, I hope you enjoyed a tour of my wall and the cool stuff I've filled it with. I love looking at it and hope to have something similar wherever I live in future days of my life. Also, if you don't have a vision wall/board, you should totally make one! I think visual reminders of what we like and where we want to be can be so influential to our lives and who we are as a person. Plus, they're really pretty and fun.
Till next time,
